Storm Week(these are my blog postings for the week of feb10-15)
This week was full of storms, both of our classes were cancelled, monday was a snowy day and wednseday was so icy,I didn't enjoy myself,I love going to class because its my break from the kids.Im so glad the power didn't go out,we had a bad exsperience with the power outage last month,it was out for 3 days. That was a tough time because we didn't have heat, running water,or nothing to cook our food, thank god my aunt has a stove that runs off gas,she cooked for us,we ended up staying at my grandmothers house because she has a wood stove, and she had a water cooler so thats where we got our water,I had to warm the babys bottles on the woodstove,we kept thinkin the power was going to come on any minute, minutes turned into hours and hours turned into three damn days, finally the last night before the power came on we went to my boyfriends mothers house in Elsipogtog, the next morning around 9 we got a call saying it was back on,I was so happy to be back home in my bed,I realized how much I take everything for granted, running water, heat,my fridge, lol,my food would of ruined if I didn't put it outside in the snow,I had to make sure it was wrapped up so no dogs would get into it,but down here in Indian Island its the cats you have to worry about, they always get into my garbage,it can be a bother.
